Wipro Commercial and Institutional Business has announced a new positioning—‘Innovation for Human Spaces’. What does this signify for the brand?

Innovation for Human Spaces reflects how Wipro is rethinking the role of workplaces and built environments. Spaces are not passive backdrops—they actively shape how people feel, think, interact, and perform. Since we spend nearly half of our working lives in workspaces, the way these environments are designed truly matters.

This positioning is about co-creating sustainable spaces where people thrive, balancing well-being, productivity, and environmental responsibility. When we design better spaces, we unlock better outcomes for individuals, organisations, and communities.

Along with this new positioning, Wipro launched iSense Air. Why is indoor air quality becoming critical in workplace design?

Indoor air pollution is an invisible but serious threat. Research shows that indoor air can be 2 to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air—and in extreme cases, even 100 times more polluted. Despite this, it is often overlooked in building design and operations.

With iSense Air, our advanced Indoor Air Quality Monitoring Solution, organisations can access real-time insights and actionable data that help create healthier and safer indoor environments. It empowers decision-makers to proactively manage air quality rather than react to problems later.

How does iSense Air integrate into Wipro’s broader smart building ecosystem?

Human-centric lighting is a growing focus globally. How is Wipro addressing this shift?

We are seeing increasing adoption of lighting systems that align with human biology. Our solutions support circadian rhythm–based lighting, dynamically adjusting colour temperature and intensity through the day.

Designed for intelligent, people-focused environments, this human-centric lighting range delivers smart lighting without complexity. With no control wiring required and full automation readiness, the solutions are built to adapt seamlessly to modern commercial and industrial spaces.

The range includes Highbay luminaires such as iSense IoL Ready Uno-X4-I, iSense IoL Ready UNO-I, iSense IoL Ready Xpressbay Pro-I, and iSense IoL Ready Astra-I, offering high-performance illumination for large-scale applications. For ceiling grids, the 2×2 panel solution, iSense IoL Ready Immaculate NXG, ensures uniform, glare-controlled lighting. These solutions are engineered to meet high standards of performance and design, enabling quieter, more focused workspaces that enhance employee well-being and operational efficiency. 

Could you explain Wipro’s DarkSky-certified lighting solutions?

Light pollution is an often-overlooked environmental issue. To address this, Wipro has introduced India’s first in-house designed and manufactured DarkSky-certified lighting products.

These outdoor lighting solutions minimise light pollution by reducing upward light spill, ensuring efficient illumination for human use while protecting wildlife habitats and natural ecosystems. This marks a significant step toward environmentally responsible urban development.
