Samsung Electronics’ latest SmartThings update for Galaxy Watches

Samsung Electronics has announced that an update is coming to the SmartThings ecosystem. This update will allow users to utilize their Galaxy Watch to monitor and control more of their smart home from their wrist. Some of the devices that will now be controllable via a Galaxy Watch include air purifiers, thermostats, and blinds. Users will also continue to enjoy the convenience of controlling their home devices like TV, air conditioning, lights, speakers, and more straight from their Galaxy Watch.

Plus, Galaxy Watch users will be able to live stream both home and doorbell Ring and Nest cameras for the first time. Ring camera users can also access two-way talk directly from their Galaxy Watch.

“Smartwatches and wearables are becoming increasingly popular, and this new update allows users to maximize their intelligent, interconnected home living experience,” said Jaeyeon Jung, Executive Vice President and Head of SmartThings, Device Platform Center at Samsung Electronics. “We are thrilled to build this critical bridge that makes smart living more accessible and convenient by helping Galaxy Watch wearers instantly protect and monitor their homes from anywhere.”

With the ability to check connected cameras from Galaxy Watch, it’s easier than ever to stay connected with your smart home. Galaxy Watch users don’t even need to open the App – they can simply swipe right or left from the Watch face to easily reach SmartThings.

This update is the latest example of Samsung’s commitment to removing complexity in today’s ever-growing, interconnected ecosystem of devices.
