The new KEF Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX architectural speakers, part of the Extreme Home Theater range, feature advanced technology from KEF’s premium ranges to deliver sound with detail and depth.
At the heart of Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX are KEF’s signature driver array – Uni-Q. Now in its 12th generation, this feat of engineering acts as a point source, dispersing sound more evenly, allowing everyone to experience the same natural, detailed sound, wherever they are in the room.
Both the Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX feature specially designed 120mm (4.75-inch) bass drivers that offer long-throw capabilities and very low distortion, delivering deep, clean bass even from a compact driver. The Ci5120QLM-THX contains four bass drivers, while the Ci3120QLM-THX has two.
This latest collection also includes KEF’s Flexible Decoupling Chassis, which reduces unwanted driver basket motion, ensuring vibrations from the mid and high-frequency motor systems do not interfere with performance. Additionally, the re-engineered tweeter gap damper effectively tames resonances, significantly enhancing detail and clarity. The 3-way system design and fully optimized crossovers allow each driver to be optimally configured for its specific role.
The Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX carry various THX Certifications for exceeding the rigorous requirements for output levels, frequency response, distortion, and recreating high-impact cinema sound with best-in-class audio fidelity. The Ci5120QLM-THX achieved the THX Certified Ultra designation, making it suitable for large rooms, and the Ci3120QLM-THX achieved the THX Certified Select designation, making it compatible for medium-sized rooms.
The Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX have been designed to be discreet. The Ultra-Thin Bezel offers the slimmest visible rim around the speaker, ensuring a sleek appearance, and the paintable magnetic metal grille will blend into the room’s interior design. Furthermore, they are IP64-certified, making them splash and dust-proof.
