Abby Lighting’s New Experience Centre in Pune

Abby Lighting, one of India’s foremost architectural lighting manufacturers, has announced the opening of its second fully interactive experience centre in Shivajinagar, Pune. The launch marks the next step in the brand’s deliberate national expansion, following its flagship experience centre in Mumbai, and brings to Pune a depth of expertise in lighting and controls specification expertise previously limited in the Pune market.

The timing reflects a market in motion. India’s office real estate sector recorded its strongest year on record in 2025, with gross leasing activity reaching 83.3 million square feet nationally, Pune alone crossing 10 million square feet for the first time, according to JLL. Alongside this, India’s luxury hospitality segment is projected to grow at a demand CAGR of 10.6 percent through FY2028, outpacing supply growth nearly two to one, according to JM Financial and HVS Anarock. Premium experiences are no longer aspirational; they are a baseline expectation across corporate, residential, and leisure contexts. Lighting is among the most consequential elements shaping the quality of these spaces.

Abby Lighting’s project footprint spans multiple cities across India, supported by an active network of ongoing projects and distribution partnerships. The company already has a presence in Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and several other cities through its partner network.

The brand’s Pune portfolio alone encompasses some of the city’s most significant commercial addresses like Deutsche Bank, CRISIL, Roche, British Petroleum, UBS, Infosys, Lupin, and Poonawalla Fincorp in Koregaon Park alongside hospitality commissions including Novotel Pune, Dukes Retreat in Khandala, and Asilo, and the institutional landmark of the Firodia Institute of Philosophy, Culture, and History. Large-scale work in progress includes AP4 Tech Park, a 4 million square feet development across 17 acres.

The Pune experience centre, designed in collaboration with Sparc Design, features over 100 live, wireless, fully controllable fixtures spanning architectural and decorative categories across office, residential, retail, and hospitality applications. Every installation allows architects and designers to evaluate beam angles, colour temperatures, and circadian rhythm systems against their own project conditions in real time, an experience that has not been available in this market before.

Talking about this development, Rachna Bajaj Joshi, Director, Abby Lighting, mentions, “Architects in Pune have been reaching out to us for years, asking for a space where they can bring clients, test ideas, and specify with the kind of confidence that only comes from direct experience. That is what we have built here. And this is only the beginning.”

Every product specified through Abby Lighting is manufactured in-house at the company’s Palghar facility. Custom wattages, finishes, and dimensions are accommodated as factory instructions, a manufacturing distinction that matters critically at the scale of India’s largest projects. Batch-to-batch colour consistency, quality and supply continuity are assured through direct ownership of tools, dies, and production processes.
