Bose Professional has acquired Fulcrum Acoustic, the Massachusetts-based manufacturer of high-performance loudspeakers, amplifiers and immersive audio systems. The acquisition brings together two companies with a shared focus on engineering advanced audio solutions for demanding professional environments.
Founded in 2008 by Stephen Siegel, Dave Gunness and Chris Alfiero, Fulcrum Acoustic has built a reputation for integrating digital signal processing (DSP) into loudspeaker design from the outset. Its portfolio of around 130 products incorporates technologies including coaxial loudspeaker designs, patented Passive Cardioid Technology and Temporal Equalization (TQ), enabling greater control over directivity, efficiency, output and sound quality.
Fulcrum solutions are deployed across challenging applications including stadiums, theaters, performing arts centres, houses of worship and nightclubs. The company’s systems have also been used at major venues including Houston’s NRG Stadium and the Rose Bowl.
For Fulcrum customers, the acquisition is expected to bring continuity, with the brand, product portfolio, team, design and manufacturing operations remaining in Whitinsville, Massachusetts. At the same time, Fulcrum will gain access to Bose Professional’s global resources and distribution network.
For Bose Professional, the acquisition expands its portfolio into high-performance loudspeakers and technologies designed for applications where precise pattern control, high output and audio quality are critical. It also strengthens the company’s capabilities in immersive audio and active acoustics.

The acquisition marks Bose Professional’s first since becoming an independent company in 2023. The company also announced that it will transition to the name 802 LABS early next year, with Fulcrum Acoustic becoming part of the company’s next phase of growth.
