At CEDIA Expo 2026 in Denver, the SIM2 UltraNero 4S DUO was recognised with a 2026 CE Pro BEST Product Award in the Projectors category. The awards are independently judged by CE Pro editors and industry experts, with entries evaluated on design and technological innovation, key functional features and their ability to stand apart within their respective categories.
Designed to address the challenges of delivering high dynamic range on large projection screens, the UltraNero 4S DUO employs two specialised imaging engines. One is optimised for highlight brightness, while the second features a dedicated high-contrast optical configuration, lens and HDR calibration focused on depth, tonal separation and shadow detail.
SIM2 combines the two engines using micrometric optical shift and precision warping to maintain pixel-accurate convergence. The projector also features redesigned EOTF and tone-mapping algorithms to manage the interaction between the two imaging systems and translate the additional light output into greater usable dynamic range rather than simply increased brightness.
The UltraNero 4S DUO maintains a measured DCI-P3 colour gamut, while its available colour volume is doubled. SIM2 states that viewers can perceive up to 30% greater contrast and up to 50% richer colour saturation compared with a single-engine configuration, while preserving black levels and highlight detail.
Delivering up to 12,000 lumens with operating noise below 33 dB, the UltraNero 4S DUO is positioned as a high-performance projection solution for large-format home cinema and premium residential applications.
