Rajeev Singh shared how the brand is redefining home entertainment through its latest range of home cinema and lifestyle projectors. Emphasising true 4K visuals, cinematic colour accuracy and flexible, multi-room experiences, he outlined how consumer expectations are shifting toward more immersive, large-screen viewing at home. He also delved into seamless integration within smart home ecosystems and offered insights into innovations showcased at Smart Home Expo 2026.
BenQ is a leading brand in displays. Could you tell us about the new range of products you showcased at Smart Home Expo 2026?
At BenQ, we have always believed that the future of home entertainment is genuinely cinematic. Not incremental upgrades to screen size, but transformative visual experiences that belong in the home.
At Smart Home Expo 2026, we showcased our latest home cinema projector lineup, including the W2720i, W4100i and W5850, each built for true cinematic fidelity in residential spaces. Alongside these, we also presented our newer compact lifestyle projectors, the GV50 and TK705i/STi, which address a very different need: flexible, multi-room entertainment that moves with the consumer.

What I find most compelling about this year’s showcase is that it went beyond individual products. It was about demonstrating how projection technology is reshaping the role of the screen in the modern home. The living room, the bedroom, even outdoor spaces – projection fits naturally into all of them, and that was the story we wanted to tell at the Expo.
What are the key features and innovations of this new range, and how do these products enhance the entertainment experience for users?
The shift we are seeing in home entertainment is significant. Consumers are no longer looking for marginal improvements. They want experiences that feel genuinely cinematic, true to the filmmaker’s vision rather than simply a larger version of what they already have.
Our latest home cinema projectors are built around that philosophy. They deliver true 4K resolution, advanced HDR performance and industry-leading colour accuracy, all calibrated to cinematic standards. The goal is to ensure that what viewers see at home remains faithful to what the creator intended.

We have also invested heavily in removing the friction that has historically made home theatre setups complicated. Integration with Google TV, seamless streaming access and intelligent image optimisation mean the experience is as effortless as it is immersive.
The result is a 120-to-150-inch cinematic screen within the home. That is a genuinely different category of experience from conventional television. Once you have seen it, it is difficult to go back.
How have customers and professionals responded to your recent product launches or solutions in this segment? Tell us about some of your popular ranges.
The response has been very encouraging, and what it reflects is a broader shift in consumer behaviour rather than just product interest.
Across markets, we are seeing a clear preference for large-screen visual experiences, particularly among premium consumers, home automation integrators and design-conscious homeowners. Our home cinema series, especially the W2720i and W4100i, has driven strong interest in this segment. These are projectors designed for dedicated home theatre environments and living-room cinema setups, and the appetite has been substantial.

At the same time, our GV series lifestyle projectors have found a very different but equally enthusiastic audience. Younger consumers, urban dwellers, people who want entertainment that adapts to their space rather than demanding a fixed setup – the GV series speaks directly to them.
What this tells me is that the future of home entertainment will not be defined by a single screen in the living room. It will be defined by multiple cinematic experiences integrated naturally throughout the home.
Apart from the new range, what other products or solutions could visitors explore at your stall during the Expo?
Our booth at Smart Home Expo 2026 was designed to show visitors the full picture rather than individual devices in isolation.
Beyond the product showcases, we demonstrated how BenQ projectors integrate with the broader smart home architecture: premium audio environments and intelligent lighting setups. The goal was to help visitors experience holistic entertainment spaces firsthand.

We had solutions on display ranging from dedicated home theatres to lifestyle projection setups for living rooms, bedrooms and outdoor spaces. Each of these environments told a different story about how projection fits into modern home design.
I think this is what differentiates BenQ’s approach at events like this. We were there to demonstrate what is possible when visual technology is embedded thoughtfully into how people actually live. A homeowner who walked in without having considered a home cinema projector experienced one in a fully integrated smart home environment, and left with a completely different perspective. That was the outcome we were looking for.
BenQ has been part of the smart home ecosystem for several years. How do you view platforms like Smart Home Expo in promoting innovation and awareness in the industry?
Platforms like Smart Home Expo serve a function that goes well beyond product showcases. They are genuine catalysts for the industry.
What makes them valuable is the convergence they enable. Technology innovators, system integrators, architects and end consumers, all in the same space, engaging with the same ideas. For a brand like BenQ, that environment is invaluable. It allows us to demonstrate how visual technology evolves alongside smart living trends, and to learn from the partners shaping what intelligent homes will look like in the years ahead.

There is also an adoption dimension that should not be underestimated. Awareness drives uptake, and platforms like this accelerate both. A homeowner who might not have considered a home cinema projector walks in, experiences one within a fully integrated smart home environment, and leaves with a completely different frame of reference.
That is the kind of impact that only a platform like this can deliver, and it is why we value being part of it.
