CEDIA Expands Outreach to Architects, Designers & Builders

CEDIA, the Association for Smart Home Professionals™, announced the appointment of designer Andrea Harvey as Director of Design & Build Outreach. Harvey will create a new department within CEDIA to enable its members to grow their businesses by forging strong partnerships with interior designers, architects, and builders. This strategic hire underscores CEDIA’s continued investment in strengthening relationships across the design and build community and positioning CEDIA members as an essential component of modern living environments.

“I’m excited to bring my background in design and industry relationships to CEDIA, with a focus on strengthening connections between the design and technology communities and supporting meaningful, long-term growth within the design and build sector,” said Harvey.

Expanding Investment in Design and Build Collaboration

Harvey’s appointment comes as CEDIA continues to expand its footprint within the design and build sector through a series of high-impact initiatives and partnerships.

Based in Ellicott City, Maryland, Harvey brings more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of interior design, construction, manufacturer partnerships, and professional education. She is the Founder of Ash Interiors & Design, where she has cultivated strong relationships across the design-build ecosystem while advancing collaboration among trade professionals. Her background also includes representing luxury manufacturers, delivering professional education programs, and presenting at national industry forums.

Harvey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and Business Administration from Elizabeth City State University and is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). She is a proud member of ASID and BID and is the founder of the non-profit organization Haven by ASH.

As Director of Design & Build Outreach, Harvey will position smart home technology as an essential component of the modern home construction process by engaging with designers, architects, homebuilders, and their trade organizations. Through targeted events, strategic partnerships, and program development, Harvey will support CEDIA members’ business growth by increasing adoption of integrated technology in both new-build and retrofit residential projects.

“CEDIA’s role is to elevate the industry and give our members a competitive advantage. Building on our long-standing program giving CEDIA members the tools to provide accredited education to designers and architects, this new department will provide even more tools for CEDIA members to build their businesses through strategic partnerships with related professionals,” noted CEDIA Global President and CEO, Daryl Friedman. “After an extensive search, we have found a true leader and innovator in Andrea. She is a designer who fully understands the importance of technology integration and will be a persuasive evangelist to the design/build community.”
