Arjun Agarwal shares insights into Cinerama Pvt Ltd’s journey in shaping India’s premium audio landscape through its Cinebels division. With a legacy spanning decades, the company brings globally renowned audio brands to Indian consumers. In this interview, he discusses recent product launches, new brand collaborations, and the growing relevance of high-fidelity audio, along with the role of Smart Home Expo in strengthening industry partnerships and expanding market reach.
Could you briefly introduce Cinebels and its role in bringing premium global brands to the Indian Market?
At Cinebels, we celebrated our 25th year in home audio in 2024, and are one of the pioneers in home audio in India. Founded in 1999, Cinebels builds on its parent company Cinerama’s 70+ year heritage in projection and sound manufacturing for professional cinemas. At Cinebels, we partner with key brands across audio verticals, focusing sharply on providing the best audio solutions for our end customers and partners. With strength across retail, distribution, and service, we bring industry-leading audio brands from around the world to the home of the Indian consumer.

You have a very extensive portfolio, right from Onkyo, Klipsch, WiiM, Pro-ject Audio Systems and Integra, to name a few. What are the latest offerings from these brands?
Cinebels currently distributes a curated portfolio of nine globally coveted brands. Marking a milestone year, Klipsch and Onkyo celebrate their 80th Anniversary with a host of new launches, showing that both brands’ R&D capability, commitment to their heritage, and ability to make products relevant to today’s consumer are alive and well. In particular, we were thrilled to launch Klipsch’s latest powered monitors, the Five II, Sevens II, and Nines II, and Onkyo’s all-new Muse and Icon series of HiFi components. Integra, Onkyo’s sister brand, launched an all-new range of DSP amplifiers in May, which are tuned to work out of the box with Klipsch’s outdoor speakers.

WiiM is a brand making waves worldwide. At this show, we gave a glimpse of their new streaming speakers, the Sound, Sound Lite, and WiiM Sub Pro, as well as their award-winning range of streaming amplifiers, headed up by the amazing WiiM Amp Ultra.
Any new brand you have collaborated with? If yes, tell us about the range they are offering.
At Smart Home Expo 2026, we launched Heco and Magnat, two legendary German brands, and Pro-ject Audio, world leaders in turntables and HiFi. Pro-ject in particular comes to us at a key time in the vinyl resurgence. With over 100 SKUs, and turntables ranging from 50,000 to 18,00,000 we are able to provide vinyl novices and veterans alike something for their taste. Further, though little known in India, Pro-ject has an amazing line of HiFi separates and speakers, and we see great potential for this range as well. Heco and Magnat both provide premium speaker offerings, and we were particularly excited to launch Heco’s Direkt Premium stereo speakers and the Magnat Signature series, both of which were India for the first time.

Tell us about your association with Smart Home Expo over the years and how the platform has helped connect with system integrators and partners.
The Smart Home Expo has become the premier destination for audio companies to connect with system integrators and partners. With a world-class team and organisation, booth standards that are taken higher year after year, and attendance from countries all over the world, this was our 4th year, and we could not have been more excited for the show.
