MediaTek today(19th May 2021) announced a collaboration with Hero Electronix venture Tessolve, to launch an edge-AI-enabled smart device ecosystem. As mentioned by the company, the partnership is expected to power advanced AI-enabled devices and premium experiences, while reducing the development costs and increasing the marketing time. MediaTek offers a powerful edge-processing platform, like the i500 AIoT Platform, which features a top-notch integrated AI processor. On the other hand, Tessolve has introduced the MAGIK2 family nano System on Module(SoM) and an evaluation board supported by MediaTek i500, to power AI smart devices. The common SDK software from MediaTek’s software scaling partner, BayLibre, is also supported by Tessolve SoM. Also, the MediaTek i500 platform supports hardware-stimulated full HD multimedia encoding/decoding. Therefore, it can be considered as an ideal device for audio/video streaming applications.
